It’s crazy to think its been 10 years for me. 10 years of insulin injections, finger pricks, rediscovery of countless test strips randomly lost throughout my room, and endless explanations of how I have the “bad kind” of diabetes…I mean is there really a good kind anyway? Time has flown by like lightning and Einsteins theories seem to make much more sense when you look back on the years for reflection. One thing I notice when I look back over the last decade is that people always seem surprised to find out that I have type 1 diabetes. The realization is always in similar fashion; typically I pull out what is assumed to be an epi-pen, a moment of panic ensues, and then relief to hear nothing urgent is happening! Considering this it has become clear I do not share this aspect of my life enough. Well maybe it’s about time! Time for the thunder, time to be heard as a diabetic in a positive light. These are the first steps and with this blog I hope to help anyone with type 1 and share my experiences with others. I am planning to write about everything from diabetes, to fitness, to even what I think would be cool to put on a bucket list. I hope you join me on this new adventure! My name is Danny and welcome to Diabetic-Drive; the adventure starts now! enjoy!!
